About Elizabeth

I spent more than a decade caring for patients as a registered nurse before I unexpectedly became one myself.

After surviving a catastrophic stroke at 38, my perspective on healthcare changed forever. Today, I combine my clinical experience with my personal journey to challenge healthcare professionals, inspire future clinicians, and advocate for a system where every patient is heard.

Changing Healthcare.

What Audiences Are Saying

Her story emphasized the importance of empathy, patient advocacy, and compassionate care, leaving a lasting impression on our students. Many walked away feeling inspired to pursue careers in nursing
— Margaret C. Morrissey Assistant Professor, Health Sciences Providence College
As a woman of color, it was such a privelage to hear someone like her speak. Her story opened my eyes to how bias and outdated practices can allow patients to fall through the cracks. It was a moment in my education I will never forget and something I will carry with me throughout my nursing career
— Nursing student, Assumption University
What stood out most was the importance of listening to your patients and escalating concerns when something doesn’t feel right. It’s better to escalate something that isn’t serious than to downplay something that could be life-threatening
— Nursing student, Assumption University
